Casey, Jr., was appointed by the federal court to serve on the Plaintiff Steering Committee (PSC) in the VW Overstated Fuel Economy case, was instrumental in the resolution of the case. The Volkswagen Group of America agreed to a settlement of $96.5 million for inflated claims of fuel economy on some of their vehicles.
